ABOUT US

Hello! We are Derek and Kate and we started Knutson Family Farm in 2017 with the goal of raising healthy food for ourselves, our family, and our friends. We began with a couple chickens, cows, and a small vegetable garden but this quickly grew to growing food for others with the establishment of a CSA, produce box subscription service, and private beef sales.

When not keeping busy with farm projects, we enjoy our time with our two boys Dane and Brandt. We love the outdoors, travelling, and all of the adventures that come with. We work too, as a firefighter and a flight nurse, and have both been in our professions for 15+ years.

THE FARM
In 2023, we made the decision to take the next step after receiving the opportunity to purchase a larger farm just down the road. Now operating on 20 acres we are excited to be adding horse boarding and hay production to our list of farming endeavors. We are blessed to have this property, with sweeping views of the Colockum Wilderness, as a place to call home.

The farm is also host to The Farm School, a non-profit extension and educational entity that works to educate the public about small scale farming, self-sustainable living, and homesteading. We are in the process of establishing a classroom, learning garden, and farmstand.
